About Your Submission

When you contribute to Athar, you are adding to a living archive of cultural memory. Your submission may be displayed on the Athar website, used in the physical exhibition at Shubbak Festival, and shared with Brent Museum and Archives for their collection.

Creative Commons Licence

All submissions to Athar are shared under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. This is a requirement of our funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

What This Means

  • Your contribution may be shared, displayed, and adapted by Shubbak Festival, Athar, and others
  • Anyone who uses your contribution must give appropriate credit
  • You retain authorship of your original contribution
  • You can still share or use your own content in any way you choose

Anonymity and Privacy

Your identity remains anonymous unless you choose to share a name or pseudonym. We do not collect personal identifying information through the Live Diary form. For more details, please read our Privacy Policy.

Right to Withdraw

If you wish to request removal of your submission, please contact us at info@shubbak.co.uk. While we will make every effort to honour removal requests, content that has already been shared under CC BY 4.0 may have been redistributed by others.

Heritage Fund Requirements

Athar is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the Voices of Resilience programme. The CC BY 4.0 licence is a condition of this funding, ensuring that heritage outputs remain accessible and open to the public.
